Preparedness and survival sites talk about BOVs (Bug Out Vehicles) on a fairly regular basis. We want them to be big enough to hold our family/group and our bug out supplies. They need to be fuel efficient, so we can get as far away from whatever disaster has us on the move and as close to our BOL (Bug Out Location) as possible without needing to refuel. We want them to be as fast as possible under those circumstances and as reliable as they can be. No one wants an accident, break down, or to be just too slow impeding our get away. But we also don’t want them to be too noticeable or attractive to would be carjackers. That’s quite a large order for any single vehicle to fulfill. Now with the random acts of human violence against innocent populations we also need them to maneuver quickly and in tight spaces under stressful conditions easy to operate by any driver.

There are as many opinions on which vehicle meets the majority of our needs in an emergency scenario as there are vehicles to choose from! Our friends at the Urban Survival Site have put together a very short list that they feel are our best choices. Check them out at the featured link to see if you agree, and if one of them is the right vehicle for you during normal times and that can carry you through an emergency.
