Most of us think that rural beats urban in a disaster every time. Less chaos, fewer people, more room to grow your own food and raise livestock. Sounds great, like heaven on earth to a whole lot of self sufficient minded folks. As with every thing in life (bummer but true) there is always an up and a down side to everything. This includes your awesome rural retreat. Lisa the wonderful Survival Mom gives us a list of at least 13 reasons why this plan may not be the safe refuge and haven that we want it to be.
