Every group needs a leader. If not even the simplest of tasks can become chaotic. In a survival scenario a good leader can make the difference between life and death literally. There may also be conflict between group members as to who should be the leader and what makes a good leader.

Leadership like any skill is in part a natural tendency and learned techniques. After the SHTF isn’t the time to develop these skills! Nor is he who is the loudest best choice for the group.
