Busting the bushcraft kit myth is the purpose of our featured blog from Frontier Bushcraft. Author Paul Kirtley discusses the skills required to start your bush craft training. Things you should know how to do on your own without any specialized gear.

I agree with his premise. You don’t really know which gear will be actually helpful until you know where your skills or lack thereof lay. By attempting to learn these skills you can get a handle on which pieces of gear will serve you best. Most of us do not have years of time spent tramping and living through and in the wild. There are skills we will take to and learn easily and there are those that we will find extremely difficult to master and our time might be better spent in other areas where gear can’t help.
