If you have teens, you know that anything a parent says pretty much goes in one ear and out the other with only a minimal stop in the grey matter in between. Many teens become outright defiant of any attempt to teach them life skills. I know I had 5! If you think back honestly to when you were a teen yourself, you will realize it’s part of growing up.

Teens and even young adults feel they are invincible and eternal. Bad things happen on TV and to other people not them. Not their community or family. You don’t want to take that sense of security away from them, but you know better. So, teaching your teen to prepare is a bit of a tight rope walk.
