3 Essentials to Prevent Home Invasion

Home invasions are one of those things that only happen to other people, like rape, robbery, murder, and identity theft. Until they happen to you, and you become that other person!

No one should live in fear. Just the opposite. We should have our homes, possessions and selves secure enough not to have to worry all the time or become easy victims. In the big picture criminals are indeed cowards. They are the people unwilling to work long hard honest hours to obtain what they want. They would rather use intimidation, fear, violence, etc. than good old fashion hard work. They can give all the excuses they want, but many people have had the same experiences and lack of opportunities that they have had and didn’t smash and grab from others. Rather they pulled themselves up by the bootstraps and went to work to make a positive difference in their own lives.

So how do we gain this security? By making ourselves and our homes difficult to attack. The harder they have to work to get to you or your property the less likely they are to continue to try. This is not to say that no crime is personal, there are some that are directly aimed at a specific person and those criminals will be willing to go to greater lengths to gain access.

But the vast majority of home invasions and robberies are crimes of opportunity. If your home is too risky or difficult to get into the odds are in your favor that they will move on looking for an easier target. See the essential tips offered by The Backdoor Prepper at the link below to make your home less attractive to those kinds of criminals.
