I actually have done this with a small orange tree. It did (while indoors) produce fruit but be warned it was like fruit on steroids! The taste was very intense and very tart. Wonderful for making extracts. You must either keep them very small to remain in a container or eventually transplant them outdoors.  If you can transplant outdoors and are in a climate where they can then thrive it is the key to sustainable living and cultivating the perfect homestead.
