Any non-personal community wide or larger SHTF event carries with it the possibility of bugging out temporarily or even getting out of dodge for the long term. You have your BOB and at the very least an idea of what will travel with you in a GOOD scenario. But getting to where you plan to go can be froth with its own issues. You could find yourself traveling in unexpected methods and over unexpected terrain. Perhaps even in a totally different direction and via a method you had not previously considered. Doing so safely is imperative.

These are basic “rules” you should discuss with your group/family long before the event occurs, to ensure that everyone is on the same page. These are serious travel situations that require teamwork with your traveling companions.
