Saturated fats, Genetically modified foods, unknown additives etc.. all part of the modern diet. No matter how hard we try to avoid them, the truth in labeling has a lot of leeway.

We can eat ourselves sick and I believe we can eat ourselves healthy as well. Our grandparents did not have the benefit of the modern medical technology that we do. But they did have the advantage of their wholesome diet. My grandmother was a nurse and she used to tell us that “that fake food is going to kill you” she was referring to what they called back then Oleo more commonly known now as margarine. As it turns out now years after her own passing she was right and the elusive they now say pure butter is much healthier for you than is margarine.
