One of the things being discussed in the news today is the length of time it will take to get the experimental drug for ebola to Africa where the majority of the afflicted reside. Also there was much discussion of which American should be given the only dose of this drug available prior to their transport back to the United States. The question on the minds of many is why was only one dose available? Why such a low inventory on a drug that could save hundreds? It isn’t as though even though the drug is new that the virus is. This is not the first outbreak of ebola. The featured article is about Just-in-Time Inventories and how they effect pandemics.
