We have posted a number of times about the uses for our own distilled spirits in a SHTF scenario. Most of the recipes we share with you can be deemed illegal in some areas as is stated at the very beginning of the featured article. I feel it does indeed reduce the value of knowing how to MIY rum. I would love to be able to make my own spirits now in normal times just because you can better control the contents and because I do love the bragging rights to my MIY creations. However, in the prepping realm knowing how to do things that will no longer be governed under federal or local laws will be important. These controlled items will be massive barter items!  So do keep this recipe and process in mind if ever needed.
