On March 22, 2014 Oso Washington experienced a large mud slide. Forty three people lost their lives and forty nine homes were engulfed. If there is a slide of this magnitude in your area  how would your home fair?

As many areas are now going into their rainy seasons it is especially important to know about slides. Even if you don’t live in an area where there is a significant amount of precipitation if you do live in near a river or where snow fall is heavy this information could apply to you. The best way to avoid a mudslide other than of course moving out of the danger zone is to prep your property annually for the snow melt or rain. Keep track of the erosion and act upon any you do find. Information to prevent a slide and prep your home and property can be found here
