Fire is a terrifying possibility where ever humans reside. Power sources, stoves, dryers, heaters, fire places, etc. can all become combustible areas. Add human error and you could have a huge fire before you are even aware you are in danger.

One tip given to me by a friend who lost a house and everything he had other than his life in a house fire was make sure you always have a flash light on your bed side table. He warns that in the flames and smoke you can become completely disorientated even in your own bedroom. The movement of the flames combined with the fear and difficulties breathing make for chaos. Nothing is more important than getting yourself and your family out… stop for nothing as no possession has more value than your safety.
