How to Protect Yourself Against Online Spying

I have nothing to hide and I could only assume that if anyone including a government agency is monitoring my computer usage they are bored silly! But I still don’t like the idea of being spied on by anyone for any reason. It’s kind of creepy to think about.

Many of us have felt that way since the revelations of Edward Snowden proclaiming that the United States government is involved in global surveillance of American citizens.  This surveillance includes your private life. There are readers of our page that are concerned that by even reveling that they are prepared for a disaster may put them in a watched category. I don’t worry about that to be honest or I wouldn’t be working on this page! I am no threat to national security and feel strongly that those that are, aren’t interested in surviving a disaster. Their aim is to cause one and the majority don’t expect to survive their own handy work. So they wouldn’t find our prepping page or group to be of any interest.

Monitoring my social media would give them the information that my grandchildren are all now potty trained!! 😛 Not exactly what they are looking for! 99.99% of us have no reason for concern. We are not important enough to be of interest to the government. But again it’s the principle of the thing not a fear of what could be found! I expect to maintain my privacy at a level where I am comfortable with it… my choice not that of anyone else. I view it as my rights being trampled on and if I ignore this loss then others will soon follow. Freedom of choice is lost one inch at a time. Therefore I intend to do what I can to keep my rights, all of them!

Keep your private life as private as YOU chose it to be, not what someone else feels is appropriate! See the 9 tips in our featured article today to protect your privacy at the link below
