Being lost, stranded, or trapped somewhere during a crisis is a fear for many. It doesn’t even have to be a major event and could very possibly be a personal SHTF scenario. One person, a dozen or hundreds could all need to get outside help and you may have to be creative in your signaling to get it.

I am reminded of a woman trapped in a ravine after an automobile accident who was unable to get out and back up onto the road way. She used an umbrella in the vehicle to signal those passing by via sticking the umbrella out the window and opening and closing it. Her hopes being that someone who see the movement from above her location. She was eventually rescued by I am afraid I don’t recall if it was because someone saw her signal or not.
