Surviving a Vehicular Terror Attack

Yes, I know as with guns, vehicles don’t kill, people do. But if you have a several ton vehicles baring down on you on your local sidewalk, are you really going to debate what is happening? Just like guns, vehicles are being used against civilians as a method of killing innocents and causing terror among our citizens.

We have had discussions on social media about this newest form of attack. Many from rural or country locations say. “Move to the country” or “stay out of populated areas”. First of all, if everyone moves to the country it won’ be the country any more it will become an urban environment and secondly staying out of populated areas just isn’t feasible for some people.

Most importantly to me, if we all sit at home, behind our locked doors, with our side arms always within reach because going to a populated area is dangerous… isn’t that saying ok, terrorists you win? We are all sitting at home afraid to go wherever we want because you are out there, and we are afraid of you! NO NO NO I won’t do it! I will not let them have the world while I stay out of their way. This doesn’t mean I am going to just stand there and dare them to run me down either! No more than I would stand in the middle of a freeway and expect the drivers to all avoid me.

The next most common response is to be aware. Yes, that is soooo true! We do have to change how we live by being more aware of our surroundings than ever before. But what I want to know is what do I do to help insure I survive when I become aware that a vehicle is coming directly at me on the sidewalk!! I don’t want to be like a deer in the headlights as many victims do… I don’t intend to allow myself to be a casualty!
