The photo above is one of the most terrifying pictures of a dog I have ever seen!

We have all seen the horrific pictures of small children who have survived all though scarred for life by a dog that suddenly turned on the child. My own granddaughter in law is badly scarred from a childhood dog attack. Sadly, not all victims survive.

Few of us have ever seen the animal just prior to the attack, which I for one am extremely grateful!

We try and train our dogs to protect us and to listen to our commands, but in fact they are animals who react to their own set of internal instincts, and we can’t always judge nor guarantee their reaction to just about anything, I love my pooch, but I am well aware he is faster than I am and not bound by the same set of life rules that I am. He reacts, and when he does, he reacts like a dog, not a person. He has no qualms about maiming, no fear of law enforcement and for some unknown reason an extreme dislike of postal carriers!

So as a responsible pet owner I try to insure he is always in my control and never left to his own instincts when approached by unknown humans. However, we can’t always rely on the dog’s owner to be in control or even to be around when the animal decides you are a threat to them. They are faster, not bothered by our larger stature, and not afraid to react with a violent attack.

After a SHTF event there will be a lot of pets suddenly without masters in control and their instincts will also be survival and to join together in packs making them even less likely to obey an unknown human. We will be a threat to them, and they will react with extreme fierceness.

So how do we stay alive when they attack? Get some tips on that at the following link
