Preparing ourselves and our families is a must do for everyone. Those that feel that they are always safe and it only happens to ‘other’ people are doing themselves a true dis-service. Mother nature knows no borders, no economic limitations, and doesn’t discriminate. Just because it didn’t happen to you this time, doesn’t mean it won’t next time. “Oh, the river rises every year, but it never overflows it’s banks here” until the year that it did!

Teaching kids preparedness is imperative! As parents, teachers, and even just as adults we need and have an obligation to teach our children how to cope with the unexpected without causing them undue stress and worry.
