(video + link) Even though this information is available on other sites on the web, I ask that you understand that I share it with you with the hope and intention that you will only use the knowledge during a crisis scenario or on your personal property. It is not given for the intent of assisting anyone in doing anything unseemly or illegal. The last time I had to call a locksmith because I locked a door with the only key to the lock inside…. that error cost me $60.00 USD. The locksmith was here about 15 minutes and I was thoroughly embarrassed. I did watch him closely and when my daughter repeated my mistake I was the hero who was able to defeat the lock and obtain access. That doesn’t necessarily make me feel good about the quality of the lock, but I sure felt good about not having to shell out another $60.00! I also now know where my security is weak and will make adjustments for it. It also made me interested in learning more about locks. So I intend to purchase my own set of tools and hopefully will never need the services of a locksmith again! The only time I would condone to use these tools on anything other than your own property would be during a crisis situation where you must find shelter or supplies and the true property owner has locked up, packed up, and gotten out of dodge. Especially in a scenario where they won’t be returning and by defeating the lock you could be saving your life or to exit somewhere that you find yourself against your will. Otherwise I hope that the majority of us will choose the high road and honor a closed door never mind a locked one!
