Using a Water Wheel to Pump Water!

photo homesteadnotes

The water wheel has been used for centuries to create power through the movement of water. But when it came to moving water, we needed power to move the water from one location to another. Now this particular water wheel design uses the energy of the moving water to push it through a coiled pipe and as it turns it continues collecting water into those pipes so wherever you place the water output pipe or pipes is where the water will eventually flow. All powered by the water itself. See how this dramatic Wirtz water pump operates at the video below
