We do discuss operation OPSEC quite often. I am a believer in the need-to-know basis is how best to determine what should be kept to oneself and what should be shared.

Some people don’t like to share their ideas or projects because then everyone will know! First, we must put ourselves in perspective whatever it is that we have shared or talked about isn’t so unique and so special that the entire country is going to be searching for you and your magic water purifier after a SHTF event. As a matter of fact, more people will be building their own water purifier that you shared in their own location rather than knocking on anyone else’s door looking for water… including your own.

We all have our unique skills to offer, and it can be to your advantage to share some of what you have to offer with those around you, because it can help you build a group. For instant I live just on the outskirts of a small community. I can see the homes of 10 other families. And just from our little bit of chatting. I know one grows fruit trees, another raises big dogs, one is an awesome gardener and canner, one is a home brewer and a butcher, another has several types of fire arms, one has a lot of outdoor shelters to offer, another has strong able bodied young adults that could be put to work and last but not least, we have a stockpile of items that aren’t easily grown, canned goods, dried goods, herb and spice garden, some outdoor shelter, some heating options and both passive and aggressive methods of self-defense Together we increase each other’s changes of survival odds.

Don’t give out you home coordinates, your gun safe pass code, etc…. be smart about what you share and with whom, for help doing that see the featured link below
