I have had chronic CHF for more than a decade and one of the signs of such an illness is the widening for the ends of your fingers including the nail. My doctor does check my nails every visit as they tell her what stage my illness is in at that time and even how it has been over the last few weeks! So far, it hasn’t been a false indicator ever!
