Becoming Grey to the Neighbors

Most preppers know what being the grey man means. In case this is the first time you have heard of it. It basically means being the person no one notices. The one know one remembers seeing and doesn’t stand out in any way to draw attention to themselves. However the concept needs to go a little deeper than your public appearance in an emergency situation. Those that know you and are not of the same mind set regarding preparing can end up being the worst folks in crisis to know you were prepared.

I had never heard of the concept of “survivor hate” until this article by The Prepper Journal about becoming the grey neighbor. Being unnoticeable in a crisis is something that comes naturally to most preppers but we live normal lives too! The neighbor kids are in and out, we share garden goods when we  have excess, and when going out of town we not only watch but have keys to each others homes. I know the majority of my neighbors don’t prep in the traditional sense. Most could go a week before panic.

What happens after that week? Will I become the enemy? For information on becoming grey among those living and socializing with us in close proximity continue at the link below
