First Responders Asked to Help Identify Extremists

Non law enforcement first responders are a lot of things. They are firefighters, paramedics, heroes, life savers, public servants and exactly who you want to see when you’re the one in need of help!

Now they are being asked to be one more thing…. unofficial members of the anti-terrorist task force. Not because they are well trained professionals in law enforcement or tactical operations, but because when SHTF they are on the scene to assist and save victims. In addition to their own duties and saving lives they are now being asked to evaluate the situation not for their own safety or the safety of the injured or ill, but for the possibility that the event could have been caused by extremists.

In 99.9% of situations where firefighters and EMTs are called in to help so are police. In any emergency situation I personally would prefer the first responders be concentrating on saving lives. What do you think?  For more information on the request that they assist in this manner and the case that brought this subject into being continue at the link below.
