Foraging is something that we talk about learning to do safely often. There may come a day when it is our only option. But in all honesty that concerns me less than the newer forager who mistakes one plant for another and ends up very ill or in the worst case scenario risks their entire family by making jam or a meal, etc.. from a toxic plant they thought was something else who was just trying to be frugal and natural. A terrifying thought. We have an number of articles aggregated on this site regarding foraging safely. To locate them simply go to categories and pull up foraging.

The featured article today is a slideshow of plants that look like edibles but are actually toxic. Look at it closely even if you only recall which ones can be mistaken for another it can be useful to know  what to avoid all together rather than take the chance if you aren’t sure!
