A penny saved is a penny earned was never truer than in today’s economy. Lots of people are beginning to understand that concept with DIY projects, couponing, energy conservation, and creating power alternatives. Making your own products (MIY) is another way to save a dollar!

Every journey for anything starts with the first step. This applies to changing your money and household management methods as well. That doesn’t mean you have to give up the sweeter things in life, if a MIY product doesn’t work for you that is ok, go back to your usual product. Then try the next one! I have returned to some of my fast favorite store-bought brands, and I also have MIY household products that I would continue using and making it myself even if I won the lotto tomorrow. (Ok, I admit I might have the new household staff actually do the making of it and cut the coupons! if I won a few million) However the point is to take that first step and try what appeals to and works for you. Then take the money you save and use it to do something good for your family like a special prep or treat. Nothing is a better incentive to do a little extra then a well-deserved extra that you thought you couldn’t afford.

That extra dollar you saved at the market using that coupon allows you to buy and stock an extra gallon of water without spending anything more. If someone offered, you a couple of free gallons a month for your preps you wouldn’t turn it down! Read the full article at the link below and begin saving today
