School has been out  in the United States for a while. Right about now your kids are beginning to get bored and worse yet beginning to drive their parents crazy. So what to do? Teach them to prep of course! 🙂

Seriously there are a lot of family orientated activities that you can do with the children that will teach them preparedness skills and that they will enjoy. Our featured blog from Homestead Dreamer gives us a few ideas at the link below

But I can think of many she may have left off her list! U pick farms are great for family outings especially if you also have the children assist in turning what you pick into a family treat like a fresh berry pie. You have then taught them both some foraging skills, and scratch cooking skills.

Fishing on a lazy summer day is another great teaching opportunity, the child can learn to catch, clean and cook their prize. My son still loves fishing and what he catches is still the only seafood he will eat!

The list could go on and on, but you don’t want to hear my rambling! See here is that link!
