I am really surprised that this settlement didn’t make international news in a big way. The idea that in the near future when 3-D printing becomes more available world wide, that “anyone” with access to the printer will be able to print their own gun is big news. Both for the pro and anti gun communities.
There are those that have concerns that they can be made undetectable, therefor could avoid security in public transportation hubs. And that with the increasing availability to access of technology by terror groups that this could provide a supply of weapons for them. But it does remove the concerns that any government can confiscate all defensive weapons as well.
Read the settlement made by the US government with the designer and make up your own mind if it is a positive or negative advancement. Then let us know on one of our social media sites what your opinion is.
Americans can legally download 3-D printed guns starting next month

Not long after the plans appeared online and after over a thousand had been downloaded, the plans were again tabled by the courts. They want additional safety and legal matters taken in to consideration. You can see the update on the progress at the featured link below from AL3DP.
