We all know the benefits of raising backyard chickens both for today and in the advent of a disaster. However, they are a lot of work and are banned by many cities and local HOAs.

Quail for the most part are not banned because the reasons for the ban usually aren’t involved with the raising of quails. Never mind that they are small and stay small making it possible to raise in a smaller space for the urban resident. Also, a very nice addition to the homesteader who already has chickens because of their ease and size.
