The featured article is in reply to the question “I’d like to hear what you have to say about using an RV for a bugout vehicle. What would you stay away from and what would you do to get it ready?”

Should your BOV also be your BOL? Should it be a home on wheels to get you to your bug out location or should it be your bug out location that you can move to where ever is safest for you and your family at the time?

There are a ton of pluses and minuses to consider when deciding if an RV is an appropriate BOV for you. If you can park in somewhere in the woods and wait out the grid down time or emergency and have a location with access to water and fire even after the tanks ran dry you could still remain sheltered and perhaps quite comfortable. The other side of course is if you aren’t in a rural area and are trying to get out of the city and to a rural location. Could you maneuver that big a vehicle amid panicked motorists? If the grid is down and even if it is up can you get enough gas to get out of the area without stalling out? Who else may see your RV and think it might be a good idea for THEM as well, will you have to defend your vehicle?

There are many  more pros and cons, to see what you should consider before deciding if an RV is the right BOV for you read the article linked below
