We all know water is one of our first concerns after surviving the initial event and locating shelter. Making sure it is available and safe to drink is a major factor to your survival. You can’t just go to the nearest body of water and scoop it up! You need to worry about filtering and purifying it before drinking it.

You may feel after all you have been through just to be alive and at the waters edge that the risk is worth it to keep your body going. But you need to be aware that even though the water looks good… no floating garbage or scum along the top etc.. It can still undo all the work you have done to stay alive to this point.

There are deadly illnesses hiding within the water you need to function and keep living. Remember your body has 3 days before it dies from lack of water, so that is the amount of time within you have to locate said water, filter it, and purify it. If you don’t take those precautions these are the worst of the illnesses that could become your next survival battle right here in the United States.
