A bug out location can mean different things to different people. It can be a prepared location that you have had the time and ability to set up specifically for you and your group or family. Or it can be a location where you intend to run to if you must leave your primary location but don’t own the property or don’t have the ability financially or for other reasons to set up specifically for yourself.

However, before you even concern yourself with setting it up or how you will get to it in a crisis, you need to figure out where this location is! Most of us agree the city is not the place to run to nor to stay if or when a major SHTF event occurs. Too much infrastructure, too many people and not enough resources. But which is really better for you and your group? A small town with all the town folks hopefully working together to make it through, or an isolated location where the only humans would be your group?

Each group or family is unique and different. So the abilities, skills and needs of each group are different. Where to go when you must go, should be a carefully thought out plan. Get the pros and cons of each type of location and then sit down and honestly determine where your best chance of surviving would be.
