I had never considered injectable Benadryl (not your regular over the counter Benadryl) at all for any purpose. But the idea of using it as a local anesthetic actually makes some sense having used oral Benadryl a number of times for its intended purpose.

Never ever use this kind of post SHTF substitute during normal times when the appropriate drug is available especially if assistance is available from formally trained medical professionals.
