Appropriately stored and safely used chemicals play a large part in producing products we use everyday for cleaning to medications. Unfortunately if mishandled accidents can happen and those same chemicals can become poisonous and be harmful. Depending upon the chemical involved and the amount spilled or mishandled the danger can be quite serious for all kinds of health issues.

No system or method of containing chemicals is fool proof and eventually there will be some kind of accident even if only a very minor one. We most often think of chemical accidents as spills that happen in the manufacturing process, but they can happen in the home as well.
