Right now the world is experiencing a shortage of a number of medical supplies necessary to fight the Covid 19 virus and help curb it’s spread. Many of these shortages are for things that we as individuals can’t do much about like respirators.

However, there are those that we can make ourselves like hand sanitizer, See that recipe here>> MIY Hand Sanitizer

The Deaconess Health Systems of Indiana has put out a call along with the instructions below to make and if possible donate masks to their health care facilities. . Outside of Indiana simply call your local health care system and ask if they are accepting donations and where to take them for processing.

Providence hospitals in Washington state are also calling for help with masks. They have kits that they have provided to volunteers to assemble and bring in for their hospitals. At the time of this writing all the kits they currently have, have been spoken for. But they are attempting to get more kits to distribute. Call the Providence health clinic or hospital nearest to you for direction on who to talk to about getting on the list to receive a kit or to learn if they will accept donations of masks prepared by the directions provided by Deaconess Health systems in this post.

If you are outside Indiana or Washington and want to donate your creations the Chemo Buddies Foundation is also looking for masks and will accept donations.

In the meantime, if you don’t personally have masks for yourself or family this is a method of better protecting yourself.

Note: The instructions are approved by the CDC for use when commercially manufactured masks such as the N95 are not available Meaning of course that the first choice is the N95.
