Lilacs are one of my favorite blooms. I have several bushes in my yard. But I wondered… Are they edible?  is this a plant that will benefit my family should we have to forage or eat only what we grow?

I didn’t have an answer, so I went searching for blogs that would give me both an answer and ideas on how they could be used. What I found is that they are indeed edible, but without a lot of nutritional value, I did find however, that they are good for more than just garnish and will add to our available resources should the worst occur.
