This brightly colored caterpillar appears like any other caterpillar but be warned touching one can be a very unpleasant scenario.  Although not deadly they pack a painful sting that will leave you wishing you hadn’t come into contact with it. They eventually morph into a rather unremarkable grey brown moth. Usually found in North America east of the Rocky mountains they are currently being spotted in Michigan.
