Eating & Cooking Daylilies

We are all learning a lot about eating what nature provides and things that we wouldn’t usually consider food items, like dandelions and now daylilies!

This is a little more complicated plant than is a dandelion. It has several medicinal purposes and can work like a laxative and a diuretic. Daylilies are also known for their allergy inducing properties. I have a niece that has what I call a “glass stomach” and a son who has one labeled as totally “cast iron”! If you are one of those who has known food allergies or whose stomach is easily upset, skip this one it isn’t worth the risk! Always, always try new things with caution. A small dose of a good thing over a longer period of time is safer than a big dose of anything you aren’t sure about! Insure you read the cautionary warnings included in the article before you try it.

So, if it could possibly set wrong with your system why would I even post this? Because there may come a time when items like daylilies could be the only nutrition available in a SHTF scenario and I would rather you know the precautions and possible ramifications prior to being so hungry that you would eat just about anything! We all have different likes and dislikes and for some these recipes and instructions on cooking daylilies could be gold. See at the link below the instructions and precautions for eating and cooking with daylilies.
