Many of us have made emergency preparations for bugging out with our family pets. Primarily a dog. They are members of our family and leaving them behind or not preparing for them would be akin to abandoning a child. But as with children we need to consider more than just emergency supplies.

The featured blog linked below addresses most of those considerations from the dog’s perspective. But there are other considerations that must be taken into account from the owner’s perspective as well. A few things that the blog doesn’t speak to are things like, can your dog remain silent and still when it’s necessary to go undetected? What about when food becomes scarce and your dog is viewed by others not as a member of your family, but rather a food source? Or when in the same scenario your pet becomes so hungry that their survival instincts take over and they began to view you or others as a food source? These are other things that no matter how unpleasant need to be thought about.

As for the wellbeing of the dog see the blog for more information beyond just preparing them with a bug out bag of their own.
